In 1987, my family moved into a secluded country house in North Carolina. Located down a long dirt path with neighbors a few miles away, it was a uniquely renovated home that was once utilized as a nursing facility. The former owner also farmed on the many acres of land surrounding the property. Since his passing, the land had been rented out to other local farmers. When my family moved in, the house had four bedrooms, including a downstairs bedroom near the closed in patio, two full baths, kitchen, dining room, laundry room and family room. It also had three storage sheds outside, including a really big white garage with a concrete floor and pad in front of garage doors. It was spacious with a huge yard, a few giant trees and even a vintage metal glider near a plum tree. While moving in, strange things started happening immediately.
