"My Joy" is more than just a song. It's about praise to Jesus for my miracle baby who I wouldn't have without His healing power. My son was born very early due to complications associated with my high-risk pregnancy. At the end of the song when I start chanting, "I love the glow you have in your eyes". I'm talking about him being born with his eyes wide open and a glow (uncommon for preemies whose eyes are usually closed as if glued shut). He weighed only one pound, too teeny to be fully developed but was looking at his mommy. 🧡Then when I sang, "Music to my ears when I first heart you cry". I say that because it wasn't until he was nearly two months old that I finally heard his cry for the first time. My micro preemie didn't cry, and the doctor didn't slap his little bottom so that he will. He was instead whisked away to the neonatal intensive care unit. Between all the tubes and trach, even when he did attempt to cry, there was no sound. 😞When I sang, "It's a blessing just to hold you in my arms". I wasn't able to hold him until more than a week after birth and only for a few minutes then back into the isolette he went. 😞 It was a long four and half months but finally he was all mine to take home. "My Joy" is more than just a song. It's a testimony of love, faith, patience and endurance. A journey only God's strength can bring you through. I love my baby boy and am blessed that we made it!
